Welcome and Introduction
Welcome to the Leadership Development program. I look forward to working with you throughout the program.
There are be a number or articles, videos, exercises in the various lessons that will support you in your learning.
Keep an open mind and a growth mindset as you work through the different lessons and challenge yourself – look inwards and ask “When I am at my best, what am I doing? How can I do this more often? When I am not at my best, what is happening?
Growth Mindset: A belief that abilities can be cultivated. Carol Dweck says that
“In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They also believe that talent alone creates success—without effort. They’re wrong.
“In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—that brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Virtually all great people have these qualities.”
